Leonard Burroughs Leonard Burroughs, age 92, of Thomasville passed away on April 7, at Guardian Angel Hospice Facility in Marion, Miss. He was born July 14, 1914, in Whatley. He was employed by Bellsouth; he worked in environmental services. He was a member of the New Hope #1 Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Lucinda Burroughs, two sons, Lemar and Freddie Clay and his wife Jennie Lee. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 14, at New Hope #1 Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. James G. Curry officiating. Burial was at the New Hope Cemetery. He is survived by: two daughters, Lelia (Joe) Barren of Mobile, and Pauline (James) Thompson of Thomasville; three sisters, Minerva (Joseph) Porreca, Alabe Bullard, and Minnie Shepard all of New York City, N.Y.; two brothersin laws, Sherman (Mildred) Taylor of Mobile and Peter Bettis of Atlanta, Ga.; three sister in-laws, Hattie Taylor of Rochester, N.Y., Johnnie Mae Taylor and Ollie Taylor both of Mobile; ten grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and five great greatgrandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Two devoted neighbors, Minister Ellis and Creola George.
