Relay sets record
Thomasville's cancer survivors gather for a special ceremony prior to the Relay for Life walk at Gates Drive Park Friday. This year, Relay raised nearly $110,000 for cancer research. Thomasville elementary won the Spirit of Relay award and was the team that raised the most money. TES also had the best cancer facts at Relay. The Thomasville Volunteer Fire Department won for best tent, New Hope Baptist Church won for best food and Suzy Adams was the high individual fundraiser. Sponsors of the event were Infirmary Home Care, Clarke-Mobile Gas, Lewis Pest Control, First United Security Bank, Clarke-Washington EMC, Amedysis, Weyerhaeuser, LP, Lifeline, Jets and UPS.
