Back where we started on alcohol
So now we have an official opinion from the Attorney General's office on what election to use when counting the signatures on the alcohol vote petition.

Meanwhile CAAST has apparently be very closely scrutinizing the signatures on that petition. And it's certainly well within their rights to do so.

While they seem to have some questions about a handful of the signatures, to our knowledge, there's been nothing found that would invalidate the petition.

So, here we are, basically back where we were several months ago, with maybe a smaller final number on that petition, but one that is still legally effective as far as we can tell.

Now, more than a year after the first petition requesting local legislation on the issue was presented, we may actually be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, with a vote that will bring an end to the community debate.

According to state law, the council must now set a date for the vote, we'll have it, and that should be it. Whatever the outcome.
