Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery to hold Decoration on May 6

Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery of Dixon's Mills will hold Decoration on Sunday, May 6. Singing and preaching will begin at 11:00 a.m. with dinner immediately following in the church fellowship hall. A singing will be held in the church sanctuary at 1:00 p.m. featuring the Lewis Trio of Sweet Water and Fortress of Tuscaloosa.

National Day of Prayer observed in Pine Hill

National Day of Prayer will be observed at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 3, at the Pine Hill Municipal Building. You are asked to make plans to join with other in the community to lift voices together in prayer for community and country.

134th Anniversary Celebration for New Greater First Baptist Church

The New Greater First Baptist Church family is inviting you to share in their 134th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, May 6, at 3:00 p.m. Dr. Emerson Ware, pastor and Great Bethel Baptist Church of Alexander City, will be the special guest.

Benefit Blitz at Grove Hill Methodist Protestant Church

Grove Hill Methodist Protestant Church is having a Benefit Blitz on Saturday, May 5, to raise money for a projection system. There will be a yard sale and bake sale beginning at 8:00 a.m. Spaghetti supper plates will be sold for $5.00 beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Dixie Disciples will be singing starting at 7:00 p.m. The church is located north of Grove Hill across from Lathan Funeral Home. Everyone is invited.

National Day of Prayer gathering for the Camden-Wilcox community

The National Day of Prayer gathering for the Camden- Wilcox community will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, May 3, at Camden Baptist Church, 300 Broad Street, amd will end before 1:00 p.m. Praise music will be offered by the Church musicians. Sponsored by the Christian churches of the area, the meeting will include a sandwich luncheon, and brief challenges to prayer by Mr. Elridge Stewart, Administrator of Camden Nursing Facility and deacon in Camden Baptist Church, Mrs. Max Baggett, president of the Women of the Church in Camden ARP Church and Gary Cole, Wilcox Academy student and a youth in leadership at Camden Baptist Church. National Day of Prayer is observed annually on the first Thursday of May by Presidential Proclamation. The entire community is invited.

Annual Springtime Dixie Bluegrass Gospel Festival

Everyone is invited to the Annual Springtime Dixie Bluegrass Gospel Festival on May 10-12 at Sullivan Family Home Place Park near St. Stephens, (9 miles south of Jackson, 1 mile off Hwy 43. There will be a Pot Luck Supper May 10 at 7:00 p.m. The event is hosted by the Sullivan Family. Bashan Baptist Church invites everyone to their Spring revival May 4-May 6. Their revival speaker will be Bro. Reggie Quimby. The last day of the revival is May 6 and is also Bashan Baptist Church's Decoration Day. They will have dinner on the grounds immediately following the morning worship service. There will be no night service. As a reminder to those who have loved ones buried in the cemetery at Bashan Baptist Church, please remove any old flowers from the graves. They will be working to clean up the church grounds and the cemetery before revival and decoration day.

On Sunday, May 6, Decoration Services at Old Liberty Cemetery in Nicholsville at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Walter Smith in charge of services.

Homecoming Services to be held at Nicholsville Baptist Church

Homecoming Services will be at 11:00 a.m. at Nicholsville Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Smith bringing the message, and there will be lunch and fellowship following.

Hoboken Baptist Church announces Spring Revival

Hoboken Baptist Church will have their Spring Revival on Sunday, May 6 through Wednesday, May 9. Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Brother Micah Gandy is the visiting revival pastor. Brother Warren Huggins pastor at Hoboken, will deliver the message Sunday morning.

Men's and Women's Day Program to be held at Miles Chapel CME Church

Men's and Women's Day Program will be held at Miles Chapel CME Church on Bashi Road, on May 6 at 2:00 p.m. Guest Speakers will be Ministers Clarence and Oleta Moorer, of Holy Trinity World Outreach Ministries of Birmingham.
