Four Tigers signed athletic scholarships recently.
Two of Thomasville High School's senior basketball players signed letters of intent to continue their education and basketball careers at the junior college level. The players making the move were Lady Tiger Ebony Early and Tiger Curtis Lane Jr.
Early, who has been a mainstay in the Lady Tiger lineup for the past three years has decided to cast her lot with the Lady Eagles of Alabama Southern Community College where she is projected to be an impact player as a freshman. She is a very physical player and will more than likely be used at a forward position. Unlike her role with the Lady Tigers where she had her back to the basket most of the time her high school coach Curtis Lane sees her possibly moving to more of an outside game where she will be facing the basket. During her senior year at THS she averaged 13 points, 7 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2.1 blocks and 1.0 assist per game and had a 51% field goal percentage.

Lane who played a major role in the Tigers' inside power game for the past three years will be taking his skills to Lurleen B. Wallace Community College in Andalusia. With the Saints having a large number of players returning off last year's squad it is expected that Lane's role will be to contribute as freshman coming off the bench. At LBW he will more than likely be moved to a small forward or a power forward posi- tion where he will be facing the basket. In his senior year for the Tigers he averaged 9 points, 10 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.5 blocked shots, and 3.2 assists per game and had a 50 % field goal percentage.
Nicholson and Watters Ink with Lady Eagles
Shaneka Nicholson and Dominique Watters saw their dreams of playing softball at the next level come true this past week when the pair signed letters of intent to further their education and play softball at Alabama Southern Community College. The two are players that Lady Eagle Coach Elaine Colvin has had her eye on for several years. After the signing ceremonies had ended Colvin hugged the two and told the large audience of Lady Tiger teammates, family and friends present for the signings, that she was very excited about them becoming part of her program and that she hoped it wouldn't be the last time she was at Thomasville High School to sign players.

Nicholson who was signed as an outfielder was hitting .443 with an on base percentage of .494 and a slugging percentage of .734 as of April 25. Her numbers also reflected 35 hits including seven doubles, three triples, and three homeruns as well as 10 stolen bases and 17 RBIs. On defense she had a fielding percentage of .840.

Watters who is a pitcher and infielder for the Lady Tigers, is expected to do double duty with the Lady Eagles as well. This season on the mound her pitching numbers through April 25 reflected a 6-3 record with 34 hits allowed, 26 walks, 70 strike outs and an ERA of 1.48. On defense she boasted a .963 fielding percentage. At the plate she has a .402 batting average, a .500 on base percentage and a .584 slugging percentage. Her other offensive numbers include 31 total hits with eight doubles and two homeruns. In the RBI category she has knocked in 22 runs thus far this season.
When Nicholson and Watters make their first appearance in a Lady Eagle uniform next fall they will be reunited with former Lady Tiger Tiffany Cribb who signed with ASCC last year.
