THS student kicked out
By Arthur McLean Editor

A Thomasville High School student was suspended from school last week after school officials searched his locker and discovered writings they considered disturbing. The student is already attending another school in the county.

Thomasville was one of three schools around the state that sent students away over concerns of threats or writing that disturbed school officials.

Students in Demopolis, Dothan and Selma were also sent home over threats and rumors of threats.

School administrators have been on edge since the latest shooting at Virginia Tech, taking threatening actions and words by students more seriously than before.

Published reports show school administrators across the country are taking a much stronger stance against students who show behaviors that might be construed as dangerous to other students in the wake of this latest tragedy.
