Lion's Club East-West game

The 2007 edition of the Mack Outlaw Lion's Club East- West All -Star Game will be played at Thomasville High School on Saturday, May 19 beginning at 2:00 PM. The annual game, which has been played in Jackson dating back to the 1970's, was moved to its new location this year by mutual agreement between those who had been responsible for its organization and operation in Jackson over the past several years and the Thomasville Lion's Club who will assume that responsibility now.

The relocation of the game became necessary when the Lion's Club in Jackson dissolved leaving the community without one. A requirement of the Lion's Clubs of Alabama for hosting the game is that it be held in a community where there is an active Lion's Club. Thomasville certainly meets that requirement, having one of the most active clubs in this area.

This year's game will feature players from the eleven high schools located in Clarke, Monroe, Washington and Wilcox counties and will serve as the first round of a series of three games that ultimately culminates in a final week of competition in Birmingham.
