The Thomasville Tigers will conclude their spring football practice this Friday, May 18, when they host the Indians of Southern Choctaw High School in a full four-quarter game. The format for the game will involve the varsities of both teams playing for three quarters followed by a junior varsity quarter. Action between the two schools will begin at 7:00 PM at D. F. Anderson Field.

The Tigers will be entering the game with the majority of the 90 plus players who started spring practice still remaining. In that number there are some who have sustained injuries that may prevent them participating in the spring game or at best limit their participation.

The practices this spring have been very physical and have included a lot of work on basic fundamentals. Special emphasis has also been given to the offensive side of the ball where the Tigers are faced with the difficult task of finding replacements for the majority of the offensive line as well as a quarterback. That of course due to the starters at those positions from last year's team being lost to graduation.

When questioned about this year's spring training and upcoming game, Tiger Head Coach Jack Hankins had this to say. "We feel like we have made a lot of progress but still have a long way to go on both sides of the ball to get to where we need to be. Hopefully the spring game will allow us to evaluate a lot of people so that we can find not only starters for each position but some much needed depth."
