Larrimore named containerboard manager at Weyerhaeuser mill
Larrimore is a veteran papermaker and manager who has worked at the Pine Hill operation for 31 years. Beginning as a student intern, Larrimore worked at the Pine Hill containerboard operation as process engineer, machine superintendent, finished products manager, engineering manager, technical manager, pulp, power and recovery manager, and most recently, finished products manager for a second time. A native of Clarke County, Larrimore earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of South Alabama. As vice president and mill manager, Larrimore is responsible for the daily operation, production and safety at the 350- employee Pine Hill containerboard operation which has the capacity to produce 860,000 tons annually of containerboard, the strong brown paper used in shipping boxes and other packaging. Larrimore reports to John Yerke, Weyerhaeuser's vice president for containerboard mills. He has been working as interim mill manager for sever- al months. "The Pine Hill mill has a rich history of success as a competitive, low-cost producer of quality linerboard and corrugated medium" said Larrimore. "We want to build on the Pine Hill culture of safe and competitive production, always in tune with our environmental stewardship responsibilities. "Weyerhaeuser's Pine Hill operation has several key competitive advantages. Most important are our committed work force and safety culture. We also have a good equipment base, raw material supply area and very competitive energy situation," Larrimore said. "We want to continue to be a success and to make positive contributions to our shareholders and in our community." Larrimore lives in Dickinson with his wife Kay. They have three children and two grandchildren. Weyerhaeuser Company's Pine Hill operations also include an iLevel Lumber Technologies mill, an iLevel Veneer Technologies mill and timberlands offices. In all, Weyerhaeuser's Pine Hill complex employs more than 700 people in family-wage jobs and is the largest employer in Wilcox County. Elsewhere in Alabama,
Weyerhaeuser manages 580,000 acres of forest land, all certified to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative™ (SFI) standard, and operates an iLevel Lumber Technologies mill in Millport, a Bardcor packaging operation in Huntsville, an iLevel Service center building in Tuscumbia, and an iLevel Veneer Technologies operation near Evergreen.
