White in student program
White will explore England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland for 20 days on July 1-20, 2007 as a member of the Alabama delegation. By participating in the European Heritage itinerary, White will earn high school credit white getting to know the people, culture and history of the places visited. Acceptance into the Student Ambassador Program is an honor. After being invited to enroll, White submitted letters of recommendation and successfully completed an interview process. She has attended several orientation meetings with program leaders and fellow delegates to learn about the destination and prepare for the journey. The group will be met upon arrival by a local delegation manager who coordinates the cultural and recreational excursions and is familiar with local customs. President Eisenhower founded People to People during his presidency in 1956 with citizen leaders. White attended the World Leadership Forum this spring, is a member of the Scholars Bowl Team, the Gifted Program, Builders Club, Teens in Training, SGA Representative, Paper Staff, Jr. Beta Club, Scrabble Team, Who's Who Among Outstanding Middle School Students, an "A" student, earned academic awards in Language, Science, Math, Social Studies, and Reading. She is a participant in the Duke Talent Identification Program and will be recognized at the State Recognition Ceremony and the National Grand Recognition Ceremony at Duke University for her achievement on the ACT test.
White is the daughter of Michael and Debra White of West Bend and the granddaughter of Fred and Joyce Huff of Thomasville and Jeanette White of Coffeeville.
