Lillie Jones Hyshaw

Lillie Jones Hyshaw, age 66, a homemaker passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2007. She was born June 3, 1941 in Vinegar Bend.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 12:00 noon at Little Bethel Baptist Church in Vinegar Bend. With Interment in the Vinegar Bend Cemetery, and Rev. Levi Summers officiated.

She was preceded in death by: her parents Willie Jones, Sr. and Alma Jones of Vinegar Bend; one son, Willie Jones; one daughter, Jane Doe.

She is survived by: husband, Luther Hyshaw of Plantersville; one son, Robert (Stephanie) Hyshaw, Aimee Betts and Iris (Jason) Hicks of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren, Kristopher Hyshaw, Candace Hyshaw, Essence Betts, Alexis Hyshaw, Javan Howard, and Jazalyn Hicks; one sister, Pearlie Jones; three brothers, Willard (Annie) Jones, S. B. Jones, and Johnnie Jones all of Vinegar Bend; sister-in-law, Pearlie (Charlie) Jones of Plantersville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers were friends and family.

Flower bearers were nieces and friends.

Richard Joe Ingram

Richard Joe Ingram, age 70, of Thomasville, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2007 at Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Thomasville. He was born June 26, 1936, in Bashi. He was the owner of Ingram Pulpwood. He was a member of Thomasville Baptist Church and a former member of the Thomasville Volunteer Fire Department and the Thomasville Rescue Squad.

Funeral services were held at Thomasville Baptist Church Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. James Best, Rev. Mark Lambert, and Rev. Scott Armstrong officiating. Burial was at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville.

He is survived by: wife, Shirley Slade Ingram of Thomasville; son, Greg Ingram of Millers Ferry; daughter, Sabrina Ingram Andrews; brother, Bill Ingram; sister, Patsy Dixon all of Thomasville.

Pallbearers were: Lance Ingram, Joe Lewis, Wayne Phillips, Joey Harrison, David Fuller and Adam Gunter.

Honorary pallbearers: Bobby Ingram, Johnny Ingram, Floyd Harper, Max Joiner, Tommy Joiner, Winston Stringer, Jinks Singleton, Harold Gunter, John Wayne Overstreet, Gary Cockerham, Herron DeLoach, Al Springfield, Ed Davidson, Gerald Champion, Perry Andrews, Charles Hamilton, Norman Loper, Bart Furrow, and all US Armed Forces, National Guard Units, the VFW and the American Legion Posts.

The family requests that donations be made to help senior citizens with spiritual, physical and financial needs.

Carylen Sue Smith

Carylen Sue Smith, age 41, of Linden, passed away on Monday, June 4, at her home in Linden. She was born May 11, 1966 in Atlanta, Ga.

Memorial services were held at Uniontown Church of God in Uniontown, on Friday June 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronnie Blankenship officiating.

She is survived by: mother, Johnnie L. Oldin and stepfather, Jenks Oldin both of Sweet Water, Tenn.; brother, Gary Lee (Polly Ann) Smith of Linden; sister, Synthia (Mark) Johnson of Uniontown; two nieces; Angela Smith and Shelly Smith; four nephews, Timothy Wilson, Gary C. (Bubba) Smith, Christopher Wilson and Johnathan Johnson.

Josephine Thomas

Josephine Thomas, age 93, of Thomasville passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2007. She was born October 16, 1913 in Dixons Mills. She was a member of Jones Chapel CME Church in Dixons Mills.

Funeral services were Wednesday May 30, 2007 at Jones Chapel CME Church in Dixons Mills. Interment was in the Green Memorial Cemetery in Dixons Mills, and Rev. Edward Mosley officiated.

She was preceded in death by: husband, Sylvester Mosley, Sr.; parents, Edgar and Lillie Curry Hosea; four sisters, Alice Craig, Lillie Stegall, Dicie Stegall, Bama Lewis; six brothers, Tommie Hosea, Lincoln Hosea, Jessie Hosea, Straughter Hosea, Sr., Greeney Hosea and Edgar Hosea, Jr.

She is survived by: one son, Rev. Edward Mosley, Sr. of Thomasville; one sister, Nancy Underwood of Jackson; five grandchildren, Edward (Tremaine) Mosley, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., Edward (Chiquitta) Mosley, Jr. of Camp La June, N. C.; Vassar (Steve) Wallace, Dexter (Chenille) Mosley of Atlanta, Ga. Patrice Mosley, of Gadsden; one sisterin law, Martha Mae Hosea of Thomaston; 10 great grandchildren; and many friends, relatives, nieces and nephews.

Mildred Lewis Thomas

Mildred Lewis Thomas, age 63, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2007. She was born October 5, 1943 in Dixons Mills, then became a resident of Pensacola, Fla.; then is 1960 she relocated to Hackensack, N. J. where she resided. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church of Hackensack.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Jones Chapel CME Church of Dixons Mills, and Rev. Willie Woodard officiated.

She was preceded in death by: first husband, Olen Thompson; parents, Ozzie and Louise Hayes Lewis of Dixons Mills; one sister, Thelma Lewis; one brother, Joe Lewis; and grandson, Robby Rashawn McKinnon.

She is survived by: husband, Clarence Sony Thomas; two sons, Robin (Melva) Lewis and Rodney Thomas both of Hackensack, N. J.; one daughter, Lawanda Thomas of Lodi, N. J.; eight brothers, Willie James of Sweet Water, Tommy James, Roy Lee, Emerson, Robert of Pensacola. Fla., Phillip Ray, Chestine of Hackensack, James of Passaic, N. J.; two sisters, Gertha Blackmon of Hackensack and Bernice Kennedy of Pensacola; one borther-in-law, David Kennedy of Pensacola; five sisters in-laws, Allie Lewis of Sweet Water, Mary Lewis of Hackensack, Lillie Lewis, Sharon Lewis of Pensacola, Zerline Lewis of Passiac; ten grandchildren, Jamal Williams of Oakland, Calif., Jabari Thomas, Elijah West, Qadir Thomas, Naazia Thomas, Naseer Thomas, and Jamar Moore of Lodi, Robyn Renee Lewis, Darius Thomas and Jade Thomas of Hackensack; ten great grandchildren; one uncle, Willie Price (Louise) Lewis of San Antonio, Texas; one aunt, Viola Dunning of Sweet Water; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.

Julia Nann Williams

Julia Nann Williams, age 76, a retired school teacher of Mobile, passed away Friday, June 8, 2007 at Mobile Infirmary West in Mobile. She was born April 14, 1931, in Uniontown. She was a retired teacher fro the Mobile County Public School System and a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church.

Graveside funeral services were held at Sweet Water Cemetery on Monday, June 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Doug Turner officiating.

She is survived by: 2 nephews, Mike Robison of Sweet Water and Cooper Huckabee of Hollywood, Calif.; one niece, Martha Ann Foster of Franklin, La.

Pallbearers were: Michael B Robison, Patrick D Robison, Robert Foster, George Foster, Allen Williams and Bill Blakeney.
