Man shot in Wilcox County

Two men and one juvenile were arrested last week after a shooting incident near Catherine.

Ralph Martin called the Wilcox County Sheriff's department after he was shot on June 12.

According to the Sheriff's report, Martin was checking his fish ponds when he came upon a vehicle parked by one of the ponds.

For reasons not explained in the report, Martin reportedly rammed the car with his vehicle.

That's when the shots were fired with at least one hitting Martin. Martin was able to drive himself to J. Paul Jones Hospital in Camden for treatment and is recovering.

Two men, Charlie Jurome Murphy, 21, of Catherine, and Casey Leon Murphy, 21 also of Catherine, turned themselves in to the Sheriff's Department Saturday.

A third person, a juvenile was also arrested in connection with the shooting.

All three are charged wtih attempted murder.
