Sweet Water High School's Class of 2007

Commencement exercises were held for the Sweet Water High school graduates on Friday, May 25, at 7:00 p.m. Speeches were given by the salutatorian, Taylor McGrew and the valedictorian Jimmy Clay Davis III.

Scholarships were presented to Nathan Tyrel Glass and Brandon Pugh from the Alabama Athletic Association; Paul Lynn, Amos Hill and Nathan Tyrel Glass from UWA, UA, USA, Faulkner State Community College, Gadsen State and ASCC; Taylor McGrew from the Bedsole Foundation and Troy University; Jonel Burge from UA and Wal-Mart Foundation; Kimberly Hall and Jimmy Clay Davis from Auburn University; Christina Curtis, Dominic Holt and Jenna Morgan from UWA; Adrianne Lockett received the Noah Poellnitz Memorial.

Marengo County Technology Center awarded Certificates of Program Completions to Christopher Adams, Adam Barentine, Chandra Blanks, Delesha Carstarphen, Kristy Cobb, Shawn Glover, Amos Hill, Core'dara Johnson, Terra Malone, Samuel Pritchett, Thomas Justin Sims, and Anthony Sutherland.

Awards were presented to select graduates: The Academic Achievement Award for English, Math, Science, and Social Studies was awarded to Jimmy Clay Davis, III sponsored by the SWE Honor Society, Dozier Hardware of Thomasville and Sweet Water High School; James Amos Hill was presented the Vocational Agribusiness Award sponsored by the A.W. Compton Timber Company of Nanafalia; Taylor McGrew and Nathan Tyrel Glass were the recipient of the Army National Guard Award; The Smyly/Norris Award was presented to Ashley Reese; The Principal's Award was awarded to Nathan Tyrel Glass; The Salutatorian Award was given to Taylor McGrew; Jimmy Clay Davis III was the recipient of the Valedictorian Award.

The Class of 2007 who successfully completed the Alabama State requirements were presented by Mrs. Vera Harris, counselor. Mr. Mark Davis, assistant principal and Mr. Stan Stokley, principal presented diplomas to Nathan Tyrel Glass, Paul Lynn, Taylor McGrew, Jonel Burge, Jimmy Clay Davis III, Jenna Morgan, Adrienne Lockett, Kimberly Hall, Christina Curtis, Delesha Carstarphen, MaryJowers; Terra Malone, Ashley Reese, Chandra Blanks, Jenylyn Cardinal, Kristy Cobb, James Amos Hill, Toni Wilson, Dominic Holt, Core'dara Johnson, Jacques Lockett, Christopher Adams, Brandon Miller, Adam Barentine, Samuel Pritchett, Jason Matthew, Shawn Dillon Glover, Anthony Sutherland, Brandon Pugh, Jeremy Tucker, Thomas Sims, and Joshua Hudson.
