According to J. David Stearns, Ed. D., associate vice president for enrollment services at the University of South Alabama, these scholarships are very competitive and are offered to the most academically outstanding freshmen entering the University each fall semester.

"USA has the reputation as one of the most modern, comprehensive and outstanding universities in the region and the country," Stearns said. "The quality of our faculty and the facilities at USA enables us to attract students with outstanding academic credentials."

He added that any major university or college would be proud to enroll such exceptional students and that USA is honored to have them join the freshman class.
