Quilts come back home
Arthur McLean
Well, shortly after she filed suit Lucinda Pettway Franklin got her quilts back from the family that "borrowed" them two years ago. Franklin claims the quilts were made by her grandmother, one of the famous Gee's Ben quilters.

Funny thing is that the quilts were in California, not in Atlanta where they were believed to be, and apparently, they were appraised just within days of the lawsuit being filed. Now the family that had the quilts is claiming the quilts are not over 100 years old after all.

I don't know about you, but something doesn't sit right with me on that story.

China

Not only is dog food from China suspect, but now so are other food imports. Lots of banned substances winding up in the food there.

But hey, think of all the money we can save by buying and eating those cancerous fish sticks from China.

In other China related news, a study estimates that 750,000 people each year die from the polluted air and water there. But at least we get cheaper clothes.

No Photography

And New York has stepped up its regulations of pesky risks to national security, photographers.

The city now requires $1 million in liability insurance and a city permit from any group of two or more people who will be photographing in a single public location for more than half an hour. It will also require the same from any group of five people who use a tripod for more than 10 minutes.

That's pretty much a load of fertilizer if you ask me. If you're in a tour group in NYC, I guess you better not let anyone use a tripod.
