Henson to represent U.S.

Thomasville's Jennifer Henson is soaking in some Hawaiian rays and representing the entire U.S. at the Lions Club International Youth Camp.

Henson is the sole representative chosen to go to the camp to meet with representatives from Lions Club organizations around the world.

Twenty five countries in all will be represented at the youth camp.

"The goal of the camp is to promote leadership and sharing of culture by joining together students from around the world," she said.

NFLstar Tiki Barber said "opportunities are rarely perfect" in a recent car advertisement.

And so it was for Henson. She wound up going to the the Lions state youth camp in Wetumpka after another student chosen couldn't make it.

She made the most of her opportunity by being named the top camper from the state.

From there, she was chosen, along with a representative from Maine to attend the international camp. Since that time, the representative from Maine had to drop out and Henson became the sole U.S. representative.

"I'm very excited about this opportunity, and a little nervous" said the THS senior.

Henson will be in the dual enrollement program at ASCC next year and hopes to attend law school.
