Spiritual Reflections
No peace, nothing else matters
Pat Ozment, Jr.
Given one wish, what would you ask for? Consider this, if you don't have peace, nothing else matters. If you don't have peace, money is meaningless. Without peace, power means nothing. Sons and daughters are no comfort if you don't have peace. With peace you can enjoy what you have. Without peace, what you have brings worry. You may have seen the sign that says, "Know Jesus, know peace. Do you know Jesus? If you know Him you will keep His commandments." Do you have peace?. In John 20:19-23 we have the account of one of the appearances Jesus made to His followers after He was resurrected. They were gathered, in fear for their lives, in a closed room. They had no peace. Jesus, the one who was crucified, came and stood in their midst. Jesus said, "Peace be with you." Jesus could have said anything He wanted to, but He said, "Peace be with

you." To help them have peace. He showed them His hands and side. How would that help them have peace? It reminded them of what He had done, and it proved to them who He is, the Son of the most High God. Evil men killed Him, but He is alive. Then Jesus said again, "Peace to you!" Jesus wanted them not to miss it, and He said the words that really should fill them with peace. He said, "As my Father hath sent me, even so send I you." Then, when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said unto them, "receive you the Holy Spirit: Whatsoever sins you remit, they are remitted unto them, and whosoever sins you retain, they are retained." Like them, He has enlisted us, empowered us by His Spirit, and entrusted us with the authority of the Father. "So Send I You," As a Christian, the only way to have the true peace that is offered by Jesus Christ the Son of God, is to respond the way they did. Go and tell, across the street, across town, or across the ocean, go and take the name of Jesus with you and know peace. See you in Church.
