TES Orientation Schedule for 2007-2008

Orientation will be in the gym each night. All grades, dates and times list below.

August 2 at 6:00 p.m. Kindergarten; August 6 at 5:00 p.m. Third grade; August 6 at 6:00 p.m. Fourth grade; August 7 at 5:00 p.m. First grade; August 7 at 6:00 p.m. Second grade.

Tri County Pearls of Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc. meeting

Tri County Pearls of Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc. will be meeting Friday, August 3, at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Thomasville Campus of Alabama Southern Community College in the Ella Bell Adult Education Building. Selma Art Guild

The Selma Art Guild's Summer Juried Art Show Opening is on Sunday, August 5th. Art will be on display at the Performing Arts Center, 1000 Selma Avenue from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm and at the Selma Art Guild Gallery, 508 Selma Avenue 12:30 pm- 4:30 pm.

The show will be juried by Andrew Hairstans from Dundee Scotland. He has gallery representation in New York City at the AmerstamWhitney International Fine Arts, Inc. and now teaches at the Auburn University Montgomery.

Sweet Water Booster Club to hold annual membership drive

Sweet Water Booster Club is currently holding its annual membership drive, filling vacancies for regular season reserved seating, and hosting a spaghetti supper Saturday, August 11, 5-8 p.m. Contact Tammy Tucker at 992-2218, Donnie Givens at 736-4498 or Jill Morgan at 736-4132 for membership information, seats or tickets for the supper.

Thomasville City Board of Education to hold Public Hearings

Thomasville City Board of Education to hold Public Hearings on the 2007-2008 Proposed Budget, Thursday, August 16, at 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, September 6, at 6:00 p.m. The meetings will be at the Thomasville High School Library.

SWAIA to hold a public meeting

The Southwest Alabama Improvement Association, known as SWAIA, will hold a public meeting Tuesday, August 21, 7:00 p.m. at Jackson Steak House. The guest speaker will be Rev. T. L. Douglas, Clarke County Board of Education, District 4. There will be an update on the Board of Education activities. Plan to attend and bring someone with you. Men's Softball Tournament to benefit Relay for Life

There will be a Men's Softball Tournament on Saturday, August 25 at the North Jackson Softball Complex (next to New Era). The entry fee will be $125 per team; plus 2 balls- 12" .47 core. Proceeds will go to Jackson's Relay for Life (American Cancer Society).
