Remember forgiveness in weeks ahead
OUR VIEW
There's two weeks to go in this debate over alcohol.

Once voting ends on August 14, the debate will be over, and we hope the healing can begin.

We encourage everyone on both sides of the issue to take stock of how they have comported themselves over the past several months and try to honestly answer the question of whether it was done in an honorable fashion.

No doubt tempers have flared and feelings have been hurt along the way. Hopefully, we can reach beyond those things and embrace our neighbors in the spirit of love and forgiveness.

We're disappointed in some of the Mayor's statements in his letter, but we felt, in the interest of preserving the record of this community's debate for future generations, it was necessary that his letter be recorded in the pages of this publication.

It's inclusion here, like that of any other letter to the editor published should not be viewed as an endorsement of the letterwriter's views by this publication.

There's one day left to register to vote in Thomasville. We encourage you to do so if you are not registered yet.
