There's just one way Thomasville is going to go wet.

And there's just one way Thomasville is going to stay dry.

The equation is simple. The most votes cast wins.

We're sure both sides are gearing up to motivate their supporters out to the polls, but we will be surprised if much more than half of the city's roughly 2,800 registered voters actually came out to vote.

Perhaps no other single issue has garnered so much interest in this community, there will still be many who won't bother going to the polls on Aug. 14.

All we have to do is look to Jackson, only 59 percent of its registered voters wound up going to the polls to vote after a contentious debate over the legalization of alcohol sales there.

So after all the talk about alcohol sales we've had to endure in this community, we hope that everyone who can, goes out and casts their vote and has their say on the matter.
