Clarke County Sheriff's report Johnny Harold Lee, 33, was arrested Monday by Clarke County sheriff's deputies for stealing an SUV that belongs to an inmate in the Clarke County Jail. "I received information that a two-toned Ford pickup was headed to J and E Scrapyard in Grove Hill with a red Ford Bronco that was possibly stolen," Chief Deputy Vergil Chapman said. Shortly after deputies were advised to be on the lookout for the vehicles, Deputy Steve Carlisle saw the truck towing the SUV on Hebron Road. The vehicle was stopped and Lee was asked if he had a bill of sale for the Bronco, which he did not have. When a check was run on the license plate deputies learned the Bronco belonged to David Ray Jordan, who was incarcerated in the county jail. Jordan was contacted and he told officers his Bronco had been left at his home on McVay Road and as far as he knew it should still be there. As deputies began to take Lee into custody he resisted and they were forced to use tasers to subdue him. Lee was charged with theft of property, first degree and resist- ing arrest. His bond was set at $23,000. Arresting officers were Deputy Carlisle, Chief Investigator Ron Baggette and Deputy Rob Bost. Sammie Lee Carr, falsely reporting an incident, arrested by Thomasville Police Dept. Michael Chieron Coston, harassment, arrested by Thomasville Police Dept. Sallie Williams Curtis, failure to appear on speeding, arrested by Jackson Police Dept. Ryan Lee Durocher, driving under the influence, unlawful possession of alcohol, arrested by Grove Hill Police Dept.
