THS football program

Thomasville High School Band Boosters are selling personal and business ads for the 2007 THS football sports program. Those purchasing an ad don't have to have a child in school. Thomasville City Board of Education to hold public hearings

Thomasville City Board of Education to hold public hearings on the 2007-2008 Proposed Budget, Thursday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m. The meetings will be at the Thomasville High School Library.

SWAIA to hold a public

meeting

The Southwest Alabama Improvement Association, known as SWAIA, will hold a public meeting Tuesday, Aug. 21, 7 p.m. at Jackson Steak House. The guest speaker will be the Rev. T.L. Douglas, Clarke County Board of Education, District 4. There will be an update on the Board of Education activities. Plan to attend and bring someone with you. Clarke County DHR Board Meeting

Clarke County DHR Board Meeting will be Aug. 21 at 3:30 p.m. in the Clarke County DHR Board Room on Highway 84 in Grove Hill. This is the quarterly board meeting.

Men's Softball Tournament to benefit Relay for Life

There will be a men's softball tournament on Saturday, Aug. 25 at the North Jackson Softball Complex (next to New Era). The entry fee will be $125 per team; plus 2 balls - 12" .47 core. Proceeds will go to Jackson's Relay for Life (American Cancer Society). Storytelling the topic of historical society meeting

The Clarke County Historical Society will meet at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Grove Hill Town Hall. Guest speaker will be the wellknown storyteller, Wanda Johnson of Fairhope. Ms. Johnson will tell of the importance of storytelling and how stories can touch hearts, lift spirits and teach powerful life lessons. Her appearance is part of the Road Scholars program of the Alabama Humanities Foundation. The public is invited to the meeting.

Parden Family Reunion

The Parden Family Reunion will be Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Bethel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Coffeeville.
