Miss Slayton, Mr. Kelley exchange vows June 23
The Rev. Scott Slayton, cou sin of the bride, united the couple. Parents of the couple are Donna and Jim Slayton of Jackson, Pam Whatley of Whatley and Keith Kelley Sr. of Grove Hill. An outdoor setting, on the lawn of the plantation, was chosen for the ceremony under a wrought iron arbor with columns of ferns on either side. Guests were seated on white chairs, with white tulle bows marking family seats. Music included "Trumpet Vol - untary" for the seating of the mothers and grandmothers, and "Canon in D Major" for the procession of the wedding party. The "Wedding March" from "Lohengrin" marked the entrance of the bride and the "Wedding March" from a "Mid Summer's Night Dream" accompanied the couple as the recessional. Miss Slayton was given in marriage by her father. The bridal gown was a champaign colored, strapless A-line with crystal beading and em broidery along the hemline by Mori Lee. It was accented by a pleated asymmetrical overlay embellished with crystal beading and embroidery. Buttons trailed the back onto a chapel length train. White roses and dark pink calla lilies enhanced by crystal beads with curly stems were included in the bride's bouquet. LeAnne Sullivan of Jackson, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. The attendant wore a two-piece formal length dress designed by LaSha's of Montgomery. The skirt was an orchid green with a sleeveless V-neck white top enhanced by a flamingo pink sash. Taylor Sullivan of Jackson and Lillie Claxton of Grove Hill, nieces of the bride and groom respectively, served as flower girls. Similar to the matron of honor's dress, the girls wore floor length flamingo pink skirts, white tops and orchid green sashes. They carried baskets lined with green orchids and filled with pink and white rose petals. Halos of miniature white satin roses adorned their hair. The father of the groom was best man. Colton Sullivan, nephew of the bride of Jackson, served as ring bearer. Ushers were Bo Keahey and Ryan Powell, both of Grove Hill. A reception was conducted at The Oaks Plantation Home where guests were served rosemary pork loin, caesar salad, green beans with almonds, loaded potato casserole, rolls and a variety of drinks. The bride and groom danced the first dance to "Amazed" by Lone Star. "I Loved Her First" by Heartland was shared by the bride and her father.
Following the honeymoon to the beaches of Destin, Fla., the couple is making their home in Montgomery.
