Hasty family reunion held Saturday, July 28

Saturday, July 28, 60 descendants of Claudy Wesley and Wencie Ella Vick Hasty gathered at the Surginer Volunteer Fire Station in Surginer to enjoy a delicious meal and make memories. Everyone brought their favorite dish and there was enough food to feed an army.

Those in attendance included: Charlie Hasty of Surginer and his son Jimmy and his wife Mary Olive and their grandson Connor Elrod of Linden; Charlie's son Buddy and wife Jan Carol Hasty, their sons and wife, Jared and Rebecca Hasty and Jeffrey and Kayla Hasty all of Gallion; Charlie's daughter, Judy and T.J. Kirkham of Vineland and their sons Steve, his wife, Cassandra and children Anna and Brooke Kirkham of Tuscaloosa and their daughter, Cynthia Taylor and children Mary Madison. Olivia and Trent of Tuscaloosa; Lois Morgan and her daughter, Linda Lee and Linda's daughter Kathi and grandson Thomas Locke from Selma; Ted and Cheryl Morgan of Surginer and their son Terry and wife Leslie and children, Grant and Heath Morgan of Duluth, Ga., and their son Jerry Morgan of Dothan; Polly Hill of Demopolis and her daughter Shirley Terrell of Madison and son Bradley Sadler, his wife Shea and daughter Abby of Mobile.

Representing the late Cecil and Lola Hasty family were Bettie Larkin and Linda Genin of Coatopa and Charles and Christine Pope of Wesley Chapel; Margaret and Howard Pope from Wesley Chapel and their daughters Carol Simpkins and Vickie Spruiell from Livingston; Grace Hasty and her daughter Wanda and husband Jim Irvin from Vineland, their daughter Dawn Carlisle of Eight Mile, their daughter Dana Etheredge and their granddaughter Kaitlynn Etheredge, Grace's daughter Kaye and husband Henry (Hot Rod) Morgan and Grace's son Phil Hasty all of Vineland and Grace's granddaughter, Amber Watson of Demopolis.

Special guests were the late Bonnie Foster's daughter Charlene and husband Steve Miller from Albany, Oregon and their son Joey, wife Andrea and son Austin Miller from Salem, Oregon and the late Bonnie Foster's granddaughter Dawn Haught from Ludowici, Ga.
