Let's make a good impression on visitors
      For the third year in a row, Thomasville is gearing up for its unique Rural "National" Supplier Conference. This year, the Boeing Company is once again on the top of the bill, but city officials say there will be some big announcements coming out of this edition of the conference.

Too hot for football season

      Well football season is here again at last and I guess you could say that I'm pretty excited about that. There's just one small problem. It's hotter than a stolen pistol out there folks. We've got temperatures in the high nineties and young men are trying to practice in full pads in that.

      Afellow who has just spent a sleepless night can certainly sympathize with people suffering from insomnia. I had such a night last week and I want to tell you it was something awful. Maybe it was because I'm accustomed to falling off to sleep just a few moments after I hit the bed.

Anger gives way to disappointment
      Dear Editor: My family & I live in the county; my children attend Thomasville Schools; Thomasville receives income from the 9% sales taxes placed on the merchandise we purchase in Thomasville (where we do most of our shopping) and more than that on the many meals we eat in town.

People of T'ville have no idea what they've done
      Dear Editor: Tuesday, August 14, the people of Thomasville chose to allow the sale of alcohol in our city. I believe I speak for many others as well as myself, when I say August 14 was a sad day for Thomasville.
