People of T'ville have no idea what they've done

Dear Editor: Tuesday, August 14, the people of Thomasville chose to allow the sale of alcohol in our city. I believe I speak for many others as well as myself, when I say August 14 was a sad day for Thomasville.

When I first heard the results Wednesday morning, my first thought was similar to that of Jesus as He was hanging on the cross and looking down on the people He prayed, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do."

God's word tells us to set ourselves apart from the world, to be different. Well, people, our city is no longer different. I believe the people of Thomasville truly have no idea what they've done.

Remember that God gave Adam and Eve the freedom to choose right or wrong. They chose wrong and there were consequences. God gave the people of Thomasville that same freedom and it is my opinion that they chose wrong. I fear the consequences.

At any rate, voting day is over and the decision has been made. I still love this town and the people here and in closing I'd just like to encourage the Christians to continue praying for our city, our families, and most of all or our children who are growing up here.

Love in Christ, Ann Morgan
