THS band booster meeting

The Thomasville High School Band Booster meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 4, at the THS band room.

Story hour at the library

The Thomasville Public Library has openings in the story hour programs for threeyear olds and in the K-fourth grade class. Three-year olds' (Reading Bees) story hour is held each Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The K-fourth graders (Dragonflies) meet from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., each Tuesday. These programs require registration, so anyone interested is asked to come by the library.

AL-ANON Meets

AL-ANON meets every Thursday night at 6:30 at Pineview Baptist Church (enter door at Moore Street entrance behind church). For more information call 636-9985.

Health fair

The Southwest Alabama Medical Center (SWAMC) will hold its annual health fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Thomasville Baptist Church. Vision and hearing screenings will be provided by the Lions Club and blood drive by United Blood Services. Health seminars and door prizes and more will be provided.

Homework assignments

Thomasville Middle School and Thomasville High School homework assignments are posted by all teachers each week. They are published by 4 p.m. every Monday for that week.

Thomasville City Board of Education to hold public hearings

Thomasville City Board of Education to hold the second public hearing on the 2007- 2008 Proposed Budget, Thursday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be at the Thomasville High School Library.

Storytelling the topic of historical society meeting

The Clarke County Historical Society will meet at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Grove Hill Town Hall. Guest speaker will be the wellknown storyteller, Wanda Johnson of Fairhope. Ms. Johnson will tell of the importance of storytelling and how stories can touch hearts, lift spirits and teach powerful life lessons. Her appearance is part of the Road Scholars program of the Alabama Humanities Foundation. The public is invited to the meeting.

Parden Family Reunion

The Parden Family Reunion will be Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Bethel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Coffeeville.
