OBITUARIES Lillie Mae Harrison Noble Lillie Mae Harrison Noble, 99, of Opine died Monday, August 20, 2007, at Southwest Alabama Medical Center. Mrs. Noble was born May 21, 1908 in Clarke County. She was a member of Bashan Baptist Church. The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, at Bashan Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Simpkins officiating. Rex Rush led the congregation in the singing of Ms. Lillie's favorite hymn, "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be" played by Mrs. Pete (June) Morrison. Also giving part of the eulogy and bringing special music was her granddaughter, Teresa Noble. Additional comments were made by Nancy Harrison and JoAnn Ramsey, two of her granddaughters. Burial was in Bashan Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville. Mrs. Noble was preceded in death by her husband, Hilary H. Noble; one son, William "Went" Noble; and one grandson, Allen E. Noble who lost his life in Vietnam. Mrs. Noble is survived by three sons, Hilary M. Noble of Thomasville, Moody R. Noble of Thomasville and Nathion U. Noble of Farmville, Va.; one daughter, Betty C. Noble of Elizabethtown, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers were Warren Noble, Michael White, Ricky Skelton, Mark Ramsey, Brandon Baker and Harold Agee. Honorary Pallbearers were Rex Rush, Pete Morrison, Ralph Agee, Kim Grocholl, Steve Harvell and Randy Harrison. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed. Margie Irvin Etheredge Margie Irvin Etheredge, 83, of Sweet Water, died Monday, August 20, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Miss. Mrs. Etheredge was born Oct. 26, 1923 in Uniontown. She was a retiree of the Marengo County School System having served 35 years at Sweet Water High School as an accident-free school bus driver. Mrs. Etheredge was a dedicated member of Hoboken Baptist Church. The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, with the Rev. Warren Huggins and the Rev. Johnny Tucker officiating. Burial was in Hoboken Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water. Mrs. Etheredge is survived by her husband of 61-1/2 years, the Rev. Jim Etheredge of Sweet Water; four sons, Jerry Ray (Floyce) Dunn of Sweet Water, Bruce (Wanda) Etheredge of Sweet Water, Ted (Janet) Etheredge of Sweet Water and Danny (Judy) Etheredge of Nanafalia; two sisters, Louise Martin of Sweet Water and Dot (Wallace) Carr of Mobile; six grandsons, Thad Dunn, Tony Dunn, Brad Dunn, Daniel Etheredge, Matthew Etheredge and Craig McManus; two granddaughters, Michelle Etheredge and Cindy Etheredge; and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Thad Dunn, Tony Dunn, Brad Dunn, Daniel Etheredge, Matthew Etheredge and Mike Nelson. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed. Lorene Thornton Lorene Thornton, 59, of Coffeeville, died August 25, 2007, at Jackson Medical Center. The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Aug. 31, at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Silas with the Rev. T.L. Ware officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Thornton is survived by her husband, Dan Thornton of Coffeeville; one daughter, Tonya (Ronnie) McGhee of Coffeeville; her father, E.C. Causey; three brothers, Leon, Leo and Luther James Causey, all of Silas; five sisters, Shirley Scruggs, Brunell Leverette, Adella Powe, Marcella Powe and Vellon McMillian, all of Silas; and grandchildren, John Crockett of Tenn., and Ronnie McGhee Jr. Reese Funeral Home of Thomasville directed. Ollie 'Fat' Waters Jr. Ollie "Fat" Waters Jr., 55, of Mobile, died August 21, 2007. Mr. Waters was employed as a machine operator at James Nichols Timber Company. The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Aug. 25, at Church of God in Christ with Elder Jimmy Allen officiating. Burial was in Tallahata C.M.E. Cemetery in Campbell. Mr. Waters is survived by his wife, Dora Lee Waters; four sons, Gergory Sr., Kelly Sr., Antonio and Terrence Waters, all of Mobile; mother, Carrie Waters of Thomasville; six sisters, Margaret Grayson of Campbell, Al Verdia Sellers of Coffeeville, Ollie Cowan, Vermell Sellers, Louise Waters, all of Thomasville and Helen Nobles of Mobile; and six grandchildren.
