Uncle Bill celebrates 94th
Bill was born Aug. 21, 1913 to the late W.H. and Ella Norris Jones. He was the ninth of 12 children and was born in a log home that stood within a few yards of his present home in Dixons Mills. He served in Europe during World War II. He married Glyndora Shumate on Dec. 21, 1949. They raised two sons, Paul (now deceased) and Alex, and four daughters, Sharon, Jean, Becky and Lisa. They now have 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Although not quite as active as in the past, Bill is still up early to check on the catfish ponds and cattle.
