Homecoming and revival

Williams Temple CME Church, 206 Davis Avenue in Thomasville, will host homecoming service at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 9 with special guest for the afternoon Elder Marcus Smith and church families from Greater First Born and Greater Faith Deliverance Churches of God in Christ from Columbia, Miss.

Revival service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 10, 11 and 12 with the week's guest evangelist the Rev. Eddie Marzette, pastor of Hopewell CME Church in Monroeville.

To purchase an ad in the commemorative booklet, contact the Rev. Hazel Kirksey - pastor, Sis. Belinda Pruitt - secretary, or Sis. Lillie Arnold - program chairlady. A full page will cost $100; half page - $50; and a quarter-page - $25. Proceeds will be used to purchase and install new carpet in the church sanctuary.

Waters is guest speaker

Minister Jack Waters will be speaking at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Gastenburg at 11 a.m., Sept. 9. Robert Mack is pastor at Macedonia.

Community Bible study

A community Bible study will be held beginning at 8:30 a.m., Sept. 5, at The Garden on Highway 43 in Thomasville. The title of the book being studied, "Woman to Woman: Preparing Yourself to Mentor," is written by Edna Ellison and Tricia Scribner. The study is a preparation guide for women desiring to become mentors. The weekly study includes guidelines for starting a mentoring ministry, plans for events and activities for mentors and mereas to do together, a mentor/ merea covenant and a commissioning service for mentors. Sweating in the Spirit with Thomasville Church of God in Christ

Ladies and Gentleman, let's get busy Thomasville, exercise for you health. Three days a week will lower your blood pressure, help you sleep, and most of all help you feel good about yourself; Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights from 6 p.m. to 6:56 p.m. at Thomasville Church of God in Christ. Everyone is invited to Sweating in the Spirit.
