Story hour at the library

The Thomasville Public Library has openings in the story hour programs for threeyear olds and in the K-fourth grade class. Three-year olds' (Reading Bees) story hour is held each Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The K-fourth graders (Dragonflies) meet from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., each Tuesday. These programs require registration, so anyone interested is asked to come by the library.

AL-ANON Meets

AL-ANON meets every Thursday night at 6:30 at Pineview Baptist Church (enter door at Moore Street entrance behind church). For more information call 636- 9985.

Health fair

The Southwest Alabama Medical Center (SWAMC) will hold its annual health fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Thomasville Baptist Church. Vision and hearing screenings will be provided by the Lions Club and blood drive by United Blood Services. Health seminars and door prizes and more will be provided.

Homework assignments

Thomasville Middle School and Thomasville High School homework assignments are posted by all teachers each week. They are published by 4 p.m. every Monday for that week.

Thomasville City Board of Education to hold public hearings

Thomasville City Board of Education to hold the second public hearing on the 2007- 2008 Proposed Budget, Thursday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be at the Thomasville High School Library.

24th Peterman Station

The 24th annual Peterman Station Arts and Crafts Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, in downtown Peterman, six miles north of Monroeville. Booths are still available at $45 without electricity and $50 with electricity.
