Morgan Brasell shears locks to help children with cancer
Ponytails donated to Locks of Love

Brasell shows her ponytails heading to Locks of Love
Morgan Brasell, age 8, recently got her hair cut off in Thomasville. Morgan, the daughter of David and Kathy Brasell of Thomasville, donated her hair to a charity called "Locks of Love" that provides prosthetics for financially disadvantaged children who have experienced hair loss due to cancer or other illnesses.

It takes up to 10 ponytails to make one prosthetic. The minimum donation is a 10-inch ponytail or braid. The manufacturing process uses two inches. Most of the recipients are young girls who want long hair. An estimated 80 percent of donations come from children wanting to help other children.
