By Charlie Anderson Contributing Writer

The Thomasville Middle School Tigers opened their 2007 season on Monday, September 10, with a 22 - 0 win over the Wilson Hall Middle School Bulldogs. The game, played at H. G. Prim Stadium in Grove Hill, was the front end of a Middle School - Junior Varsity double header.

In the game the Tigers got their first points of the game with 4:10 remaining in the first quarter when Tyler Hayes barreled in from five yards out. Hayes added the two point conversion and TMS led 8 - 0.

The Tigers upped their lead in the second quarter when Hayes broke loose and ramble 60 yards to pay dirt. John Knight blasted in from three yards out for the two point conversion and the TMS lead was 16 - 0 with 6:04 yet to play in the first half.

As they did throughout the game the Tiger kept the Bulldogs in check for the balance of the second quarter making it possible for the Tigers to take the two touchdown lead into the halftime.

Neither team was able to get anything going in the third quarter but the Tigers added another score at the 5:26 mark of the final period when Tyler Hayes scored his third touchdown of the night on a 23 yard scamper. The two point conversion fell short leaving the final score at 22 - 0.

The TMS Tigers will be in action again on Monday, September 17, when they host the Sweet Water Middle School Bulldogs. Game time is set for 6:30 PM.
