Trike-A-Thon to be held to raise funds for St. Jude

Children attending Education Station, 318 West Front Street in Thomasville, will be working to raise money to help other children.

On Oct. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., preschoolers will be riding their tricycles to raise funds for St. Jude's Research Hospital in its ongoing fight against childhood catastrophic diseases.

The trike-a-thon is designed to expose pre-schoolers to using riding toys safely through a weeklong fun activity and provides a parent-awareness program that involves the parents in safe behavior practices to help ensure their child's wellbeing.

"Our goal in holding this event is to help the children of the world who are stricken with diseases like cancer, AIDS, sickle cell disease and other catastrophic illnesses, said Merita Harrell, coordinator of the event.

Anyone who is interested in participating or making a donation, please call Mrs. Harrell at 334-637-0008. Also, for additional information go to, www.stjude.org/trike.
