Nursing assistants honored in B'ham
By Janet Smith Thomasville Nursing Home
Alabama's Best Practices program recently honored certified nursing assistants who are outstanding in their field. Two of our nursing assistants were honored during this event in

Birmingham.

Carolyn Horn has been a nursing assistant in our facility for 30 years. Ms. Horn does much more than meet the basic needs of those assigned to her. She helps residents maintain their dignity and pride by ensuring that they look their best. She talks to the residents about their families and things that are important to them. Ms. Horn has earned the respect of her co-workers over the years and leads by example rather than words. Her leadership skills recently earned her a promotion to preceptor. This allows her to interact with all newly hired nursing assistants and assist them with their orientation to our facility.

Donisha Chapman was also recognized. She has been employed with us as a nursing assistant for 10 months. During that time Donisha has made a lasting impression. She is caring and compassionate. If she has favorites you can't tell it because she makes everyone feel like they are special to her. She willingly helps others without being asked and she never complains about it. She is one of those people that everyone wants to be around because she is so pleasant.

We extend our congratulations to these two ladies. Thomasville Nursing Home is truly blessed to have employees of this caliber.
