Local students graduate during summer from AU

Auburn University awarded some 1,124 degrees during its summer commencement ceremony Aug. 4, at Beard-Eaves- Memorial Coliseum. Of the degrees AU awarded, approximately 815 were bachelor's degrees, three were first-professional degrees, 226 were master's degrees, four were education specialist degrees and 76 were doctorates.

The following local students were awarded degrees during the ceremony.

- Thomasville - Bachelors: BS, Horticulture, John Brandon Osborn. Masters: MAC, Accountancy, Amanda Brooke Pope.

- Grove Hill - Bachelors: BS, Exercise Science, Ashley Nicole Robinson.

- Jackson - Masters: MED, Elementary Education, Rhiannon Driver Brackin.
