Thomasville High School Head Football Coach Jack Hankins, who has compiled a 56 and 13 record since taking over the reigns of the Tiger football program in 2002, was recently notified that he has been selected to be a member of the coaching staff for the Alabama squad that will participate in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Classic on Monday, December 17, 2007. His selection was made by a committee in the AHSAA charged with that task and was based on recommendations from his peers and his performance as a coach in the 2006 North - South All-Star Game.
Having been routinely played in the summer in the past, the game was moved to its new date in December for the first time this season. The game will continue to be played in Mobile at Ladd - Peebles Stadium just as it has been in the past and is expected to be televised state wide. The rosters for the two teams will be made up from some of the best senior football players in Alabama and Mississippi.
