LifeLine in final stages of JETS buyout LifeLine Paramedics is currently in the final stages of negotiating the purchase of the JETS ambulance service. "We're working out the details now," said Jonah Thomas manager of LifeLine. "I think the people of Clarke County will be better served by combining the two companies." Thomasville-based LifeLine was founded in December of 2004 and served Thomasville and the surrounding areas along with the Knight's ambulance service. Later, LifeLine established an office in Grove Hill. In 2006, Jackson-based JETS purchased Knights and began serving all of Clarke County and parts of Washington County as JETS. Thomas said the combined company will be better able to allocate its resources to more effectively serve Clarke County. The ambulances will operate under the LifeLine name. LifeLine currently operates four ambulances and JETS operates seven. The company is expected to employ about 70 people. "Everyone has been very good working with us," Thomas said. "They're truly dedicated to the people of Clarke County. This was a natural thing to do and we've worked together to provide great service in Clarke County."
Thomas expects the deal to be finalized within the next few weeks, pending approval from state licensing bodies.
