Clarke, Bagley nuptials exchanged in Grove Hill
The bride is the daughter of Gene and Cheryl Clarke of Grove Hill. She is the granddaughter of Gloria Crider and the late Byron Crider of Decatur, and the late Paul and Doris Clarke of Thomasville. The groom is the son of Larry and Kay Bagley of Grove Hill. Tyler is the grandson of Mildred Barfield and the late Archie Barfield of Grove Hill and Ann Bagley and the late Ed Bagley of Hoover. The church sanctuary was decorated with arrangements of pink and white larkspur, white Casablanca lilies, pink roses, green hydrangeas, Italian and Israel ruscus, green spider mums, bells of Ireland and calla lilies. A large urn arrangement was centered on the church's altar with matching accent arrangements on the altar rails. Smaller arrangements also graced the table holding the unity candles and the bride's registration table where the groom's cousin, Jenny Moore of Jackson, greeted guests. Wedding programs were distributed by Caroline and Julia Barfield of Atlanta, Ga., also cousins of the groom. Prenuptial and wedding music was provided by the Silverwood Quartet of Pensacola, Fla. The group was comprised of Andra Bohnet - flute, Tom Morley - violin, Jonathan Clark - viola, and Barbara Gabriel - cello. The grandmothers were seated to Ave Maria - Bach/Gounod and the mothers entered to Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring - Bach. Pachelbel's Canon in D was played for the attendants' processional and the bride and her father entered to the traditional Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin - Wagner. The hymn tune Be Thou My Vision by Forgaill was played for the lighting of the Unity Candle and the bride and groom exited the church to the joyous Wedding March by Mendelsohn. Other prenuptial selections included Air on the G String - Bach, Flower Duet from Lakme - Delibes, Clair de Lune - Debussy, Brandenburg Concerto - Bach, Air from Water Music - Handel, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik - Mozart, Sheep May Safely Graze - Bach, Largo - Handel, and Alleluia - Mozart. Given in marriage by her father, Emily wore a formal gown from the Monaco Bridal Collection, inspired by Her Serene Highness Princess Grace of Monaco, formerly known as Grace Kelly. Created from imported Monaco silk, the gown featured a strapless bodice with cummerbund accented by glass crystals, silver beading and hand-knotted silver silk lame' designs. The full silk ballroom skirt with a 10-foot royal train was edged by silver hand-knotted lame' designs with glass crystals and silver beading. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of pink titanic roses, white miniature calla lilies, and pearlstudded stephanotis with French love knots and pearls. The bride was served by her sister, Amy Clarke Davis of Grove Hill as matron of honor and her long-time friend, Lauren Megginson of Birmingham as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kari Bagley of Tuscaloosa (sister of the groom), Melissa Bagley of Grove Hill (sister of the groom), Kaysha Patel of Moody (friend of the bride) and Louisa Muñoz of Birmingham (friend of the bride). The bride's attendants wore floor-length strapless Mori Lee gowns in pink chiffon and carried hand-tied bouquets of Alex and pink titanic roses, green hydrangeas and white miniature calla lilies. The father of the groom, Larry Bagley, served as his best man. Groomsmen were Kurt Hutto of Fultondale, (cousin of groom), Rex Knight of Grove Hill, (friend of groom), Daniel Baugh of Grove Hill, (friend of groom), Kevin Parker of Fultondale, (friend of groom), and Lucas Stewart of Atlanta, Ga. (friend of groom). Ushers were Matt Powell of Tuscaloosa, (friend of groom), Dru Powell of Tuscaloosa, (friend of groom), and Neal Resmondo of Trussville, (friend of groom). The mother of the bride wore a floor length cornflower blue dress with a coordinating jacket and pearl beading. The groom's mother wore a formal periwinkle dress with accents of embroidery and beading on the matching jacket. Both mothers wore corsages of miniature white roses. The reception was held immediately following the wedding in the Grove Hill United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Reception hostesses were Mary English and Terry Norris. The wedding cake was a threelayer round white cake with white buttercream frosting featuring Emily's and Tyler's monogram. It was displayed on a large round silver pedestal and decorated with live flowers matching those in the bride's and bridesmaids' bouquets. The groom's cake was a three-layer square chocolate cake with chocolate icing topped with chocolate covered strawberries Table decorations were live arrangements of pink lilies in vases of limes carrying out the bride's color scheme. The reception was catered by Debbie Davis of Jackson. Rhonda and Ellie Wilson of Grove Hill, Susan Jones of Grove Hill, and Dacy Jones of Auburn, Mary Ann Hutto of Grove Hill, and Cindy Anderson of Jackson served cake and punch to the many guests who attended. Belinda Gildersleeve provided childcare in the church's nursery. After a weeklong honeymoon in the Bahamas at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort, the couple will reside in Trussville, where the bride will continue as an audit accountant for KPMG in Birmingham. The groom serves as a parole and probation officer for the state of Alabama in Birmingham and an adjunct instructor for the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
