Makes me wonder how poor families supposed to make it Helpless but not homeless My name is Deanby Overton. I have been in nursing school for two yeas. I am married with three children. I gave my life to God almost five years ago. This story isn't really about me. It's about my sister. She's a 29-year old mother of two. She also is a full-time student and she also works part-time cleaning houses. Recently her landlord died and his two sons took over the land where her mobile home had sat for eight years. She was evicted so that the land could be sold. My sister couldn't afford to have the mobile home professionally moved so we had it moved by a friend with his tractor.
A man from my sister's church let her rent a spot for the mobile home for an inexpensive price for which we are grateful. Everything so far sounds fine, huh? Here's the problem the "city inspector" said he would not allow her to get her lights or water turned on before the following list of things were done: She and her two children live on less than $500 a month. Her mobile home has a value of less than $2,000. Does this make sense to anyone? It certainly doesn't make sense to me. It makes me wonder how hard working poor families are supposed to make it now days. It hurts my heart to see her and her two small children going through this, especially to know that I can't afford to help her out of it. She needs your prayers. I can't pull her out of this, but God can. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and may God bless you.
