OBITUARIES Charlie Brown Charlie Brown, 68, of Thomasville, died Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at his home. Mr. Brown was born Jan. 29, 1939 in Cochran. He was a retired maintenance worker and was a member of Pineview Baptist Church. The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 12, at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with the Rev. Scott Myers officiating. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife Levinna Brown of Thomasville; one son, Charles E. Brown Jr. of Newnan, Ga.; one daughter, Tami B. Black of Thomasville; his mother, Verna Brown Winborn of Butler; two sisters, Jeanette Adams of Butler and Carolyn Dorris of Calera; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Todd Pierce Tyler Pierce, Rusty Bishop, Wynn Morgan, Wayne Morgan, Craig Dorris, Chris Pilkington, Tim Dunn, Kannon Hutto, Steve Green, Andy Bagley, Ken Hamilton and Dan Makofski. Honorary pallbearers were The Searchers Sunday School Class at Pineview Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Pineview Baptist Church Building Fund. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directed. Merle D. Ozment Merle D. Ozment, 65, of Arlington, died Monday, October 8, 2007, after an extended illness. Mrs. Ozment was born in Nicholsville, was a resident of Arlington for the past few months and had been a former resident of Kimbrough and Thomasville. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Magnolia - Arlington community. The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Magnolia with Branch President William Newton officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Ozment is survived by her husband of 28 years, Michael Arthur Ozment of Arlington. Pallbearers were Mitchell Aitken, Darrell Joe Tyler, Daniel Bender, Frank Martin, James Martin and Thomas Hurst. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directed. Mayme Kelley Smith Mayme Kelley Smith, 88, of Thomasville, died Friday, October 12, 2007, at Thomasville Nursing Home in Thomasville. Mrs. Smith was born June 13, 1919 in Thomasville. She was retired from Vanity Fair where she worked as a seamstress. The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with the Rev. Ronnie Giles and the Rev. David Guy officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville. Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons, Harold Smith and Carl Smith, both of Thomasville; two brothers, Gordon Kelley of Thomasville and Lonnie Kelley of Selma; four sisters Eddis K. Williamson and Mable Trull, both of Mobile, Mary Baugh of Grove Hill and Nomie Clarke of Fulton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Boyce Kelley, Eudell Dungan, Jimmy Williamson, Willie Williamson, Ricky Butts and Shaun Lassiter. Honorary pallbearers were Donald Kelley, Virgil Goodman, William Stephens, Elga Goodman, Don Phillips, Buddy Wells, Johnny Newsome and Eddie Clarke. John Robert 'Bob' Woodard John Robert "Bob" Woodard, 62, of Pine Hill, died, Monday, October 8, 2007, at Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Thomasville. Mr. Woodard was born Jan. 27, 1945, in Olney, Ill. He worked in the oil and gas refinery business. Mr. Woodard was a member of the American Legion Post No. 0020 in Newton, Ill., and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 32. He also served in the Army. Graveside service was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, at Choctaw Corner Cemetery with the Rev. Irby Weaver officiating. Mr. Woodward is survived by two daughters, Nolia (Robin) Bradfield of Pine Hill and Tina (Daryl) Allen of Slidell, La.; one son, Dale (Cindy) Woodard of Camden; one brother, Bill Woodard of Madison, Wis.; one sister, Margaret Liggett of Xenia, Ill.; and six grandchildren. Mr. Woodard was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Steve Woodard. Pallbearers were Tommy Walker, Scott Stewart, Robin Bradfield, Tony Hinterscher, Fred Hinterscher and John Pearson.
