Homecoming and revival

Sunflower A.O.H. Church of God on McFadden Avenue in Thomasville will continue in revival through Friday, Oct. 19. Evangelist for the week of revival is Elder Bobby R. Harmon, of Carlton A.O.H. Church of God.

FREE clothes

HIS Vineyard Church, 1070 Coffeeville Road in Jackson will be giving away clothes beginning at 7 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20. Also, around lunchtime hotdogs and drinks will be served. A church spokesman said, "The response from this community has been overwhelming with donations of clothing items so there is surely something for everyone. Pass the word, grab a friend and join us. We look forward to meeting you. Many thanks to all who have helped make this event possible. The Lord will truly bless you."

Fall revival

Grove Hill Baptist Church will host its fall revival at 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 21 and 7 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 22-24. Dr. Don Boone, pastor of First Baptist Church in Vancleave, Miss. will be guest evangelist for the week. Dr. Boone was pastor of one of the strongest churches in Mississippi. He graduated from University of Mobile and holds two masters' degrees and a doctor of ministries degree from Southern Seminary in Jacksonville, Fla.

Dr. Randy Boone, minister of music, will be leading the music. A nursery will be provided for smaller children. Bro. Hughie Denton, interim pastor, and church members invite everyone to join in the week of great preaching, great singing and fellowship.

Revival

Good Hope Baptist Church will be in revival Sunday, Oct. 21 through Wednesday, Oct. 24. The Sunday morning service will be followed by a covered dish lunch. Weekday services will begin at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Hal Taylor and special music will be offered by Bro. Buddy Delsen.

Choir anniversary

The pastor and members of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Nicholsville invite everyone to their annual choir anniversary to be held at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27 and at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28. The Rev. Alphonso Bowen and church family of the New Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Nanafalia will be special guests Sunday afternoon. All choirs, groups and soloists are invited and asked for an A&B selection and donation. Dinner will be served.

Fall festival

Oak Grove Baptist Church in the Chilton community will have a fall festival at 3:30 p.m., Oct. 27. A costume contest will be held for all ages, plus games activities, obstacle course and more. The evening will end with a hayride. Anyone who can is asked to bring a 2-liter Coke, cake, cookies, candy or cupcakes for the cakewalk. People of all ages are invited to come and enjoy the festivities. Rev. Morris Hill is pastor.

Benefit singing

A benefit singing will be held for 23-year old Jeffery West of Grove Hill, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Oct. 27, at the Thomasville High School cafeteria. West has a rare disease called Castlemans disease. He is the son of Don and Betsy West of Grove Hill and is a volunteer fireman in the Helwestern community. Featured singers for the event will include Glory Road, Dixie Disciples, Josh Andrews, Brandy Beech, Larry and Carol Cox and more. No admission will be charged but a love offering will be accepted for West. For more information call Annie Knight at 334-636-5601.

Homecoming

Thomaston Baptist Church will host its 67th annual homecoming Sunday, Oct. 28. Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m. Morning worship will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne Sharp speaking and Mitzi Gates providing music.

Fall festival

Full Gospel Lighthouse, 13990 Highway 10 West in Pine Hill will host Hallelujah Night Fall Festival from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31. Parents along with their children ages 2 to 12 are invited. At 5:30 p.m. judging and prizes for the most authentic Bible characters will be held followed by a Gospel Bill video (Jesus is Coming). The evening will also include games and crafts, along with prizes and a Blessings Walk for the adults. For more information call 334- 385-2245 or 205-459-4546.

Sweating in the Spirit with Thomasville Church of God in Christ

Ladies and Gentleman, let's get busy Thomasville, exercise for you health. Three days a week will lower your blood pressure, help you sleep, and most of all help you feel good about yourself; Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights from 6 p.m. to 6:56 p.m. at Thomasville Church of God in Christ. Everyone is invited to Sweating in the Spirit.
