Worthwhile Club meeting held

On Oct. 10, at 2 p.m., the Worthwhile Club met at Gaston's Grill in Thomasville. The meeting was called to order by the president, Jane Eriksen who thanked the hostesses, Betty Davis, Betty Heaton and Cynthia McDonald for providing refreshments for the meeting.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Louise McAlpine and the devotional entitled "Living Jesus" by Mother Teresa was given by Betty Davis. She closed with prayer.

The program chairman Judy Lewis presented Dr. Daveta Dozier who stated that October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month. She presented pamphlets on several diseases and ailments. Her main topic was on home health and hospice. The main differences are home health is essentially housebound and hospice is terminal illnesses or pain management.

Rosae Lee Overstreet gave the treasurer's report and Anne Hamilton read the minutes from the last meeting. Other business followed and the meeting adjourned with the reading of the club collect led by Ann Harrison.
