OBITUARIES Lillian E. Renshaw Bailey Lillian E. Renshaw Bailey, 90, of Woodlyn, Pa., and formerly of Chester, Pa., died Friday, October 19, 2007, at Fair Acres Geriatric Center. Mrs. Bailey was born in Conowingo, Md. She was a member of Chichester Baptist Church, also known as Chester Baptist Temple and Woodlyn Baptist Church. She was employed for 15 years in the housekeeping department at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. The funeral was held at 12 noon, Monday, Oct. 22, at Minshall-Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home in Media, Pa. Mrs. Bailey is survived by three sons, Robert C. (Mary) Macklem of Wilmington, Del., William A. (Mary Jane) Macklem of New Britain (Bucks County), Pa. and Ernest G. (Patti) Bailey of Chadds Ford, Pa.; two daughters, Bonnie M. (Joe) Blythe of Chester, Pa. and Carol A. (James) McCloskey of Thomasville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by two husbands, Ernie Bailey and Carl Macklem; and one brother, Jack Renshaw. Bettye Pryce Faile Bettye Pryce Faile, 74, of Campbell, died Friday, October 26, 2007, at her home. Mrs. Faile was born June 24, 1933 in Millry. She was a homemaker and was a member of Witch Creek Baptist Church in Campbell. The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, at Witch Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Walker officiating. Burial was in Witch Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Faile is survived by her husband, Herbert B. Faile of Campbell; two sons, Randy Scarbrough and Ronnie Scarbrough, both of Millry; one stepson, Don Faile of Mobile; one daughter, Gail Lindsey of Silas; one stepdaughter, Debra Courtney of Campbell; 12 grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers were Josh Bishop, Temple Huckabee, Gaines Carter, Dwain Baxter, Buddy Warrick and Jeff Jordan. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed. Robert Harold Gunter Robert Harold Gunter, 77, of Thomasville, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at USA Medical Center in Mobile. Mr. Gunter was born Oct. 30, 1929 in Selma. He was retired from Boise Cascade where he worked as a chip mill supervisor. Mr. Gunter was a member of Midway Baptist Church and Oliver Lodge No. 334 F&AM in Thomasville. Graveside service was held at 10;30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, at Choctaw Corner Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Myers officiating. Mr. Gunter is survived by his wife, Katharine Gunter of Thomasville; two sons, Russell Gunter and Adam Gunter, both of Thomasville; one sister, Blanche Barefield of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Paul Gunter of Monroeville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Gunter was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Gunter. Memorial donations can be made to the Midway Baptist Church, Pineview Baptist Church or Thomasville Baptist Church. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directed. Willie Walter Malone Willie Walter Malone, 93, died October 20, 2007. Mr. Malone was born April 6, 1914, to Steve and Lucille "Lucy" Parton Malone, in Nanafalia. During his early years he lived in Morvin and worked as a farmer and sharecropper. Afterwards, he worked as a logger for Scotch Lumber Company and retired after more than 20 years. After retirement he moved to Selma to reside with his daughter, Pearlie. The funeral was held at 12 noon, Saturday, Oct. 27, at Freewill Christian Church in Selma with Elder Jerry Holman officiating and Dr. Aubrie Hill, eulogist. Burial was in Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Malone is survived by 14 children, Willie Mae (Aubrie) Hill of Mobile, Pearlie Swift of Selma, Fannie (Richard) Bourne of Uniondale, N.Y., Martha (Lloyd) Eason of Uniondale, N.Y., Willie Earl Malone of Selma, Evelyn (James) Milton of Houston, Texas, Elizabeth Malone of Joliet, Ill., DeLois (Marvin) Baskin of Joliet, Ill, Brenda (Leonard) Buxton of Morvin, Debra (Tony) Turner of Pennington, Charles Malone of Nanafalia, Annie M. Malone of Putnam, Dwight (Mary) Malone of Putnam and Fredrick (Jacqueline) Malone of Camden; one daughter-in-law, Leona Malone of Fayetteville, N.C.; 38 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Mr. Malone was preceded in death by one son, Retired Master Sergeant Bennie Malone; his step-mother, Pearlie Johnson Malone; one brother, Farissee "Hudson" Malone; three sisters, Edna "Gertie May" Johnson, Essie May Harris and Jessie Macon; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mosley Funeral Home of Thomasville directed. Helen C. Sheffield Helen C. Sheffield, 81, of Pine Hill, died Saturday, October 27, 2007, at her home. Mrs. Sheffield was born April 2, 1926 in Pine Hill. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress. The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30, at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with the Rev. John Averitt officiating. Burial was in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Vineland. Mrs. Sheffield is survived by three sons, David A. Sheffield of Edgefield, S.C., Edward E. Sheffield of Sweet Water and Clyde D. Sheffield of Savannah, Ga.; one daughter, Linda S. Pugh of Pine Hill; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sheffield was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Sheffield. Pallbearers were Lamar Stockman, Bobby Wayne Brooks, Allen Acker, Shawn Walker, Patrick Sheffield and Kenneth Stockman.
