Manhunt for Bashi man ends in Enterprise A Bashi man was arrested in Enterprise Monday after leading Clarke County lawmen on a manhunt for several days. On Thursday, Oct. 25, an Alabama State Trooper saw what appeared to be a motorist, broken down on Highway 43 just south of Bearfork Road. As the trooper approached the motorist, Lonzo Head, he began to act suspicious. When the trooper asked Head to take his hands out of his pockets, the suspect fled into the woods. As officers searched the area just north of Grove Hill apparently Head went to a home on Highway 43 and asked the resident to call his wife. The resident made the call but when he returned to the door Head was gone. Head was spotted again that night at Calvary Baptist Church in Greenwood, running west. The following day officers received a report Head was seen walking on Bell Road. Officers tracked Head through the woods but abandoned the track when a truck driver reported he had seen him on Raindrop Road. "We didn't see him anymore Friday, but on Saturday a burglary was reported from a resident on Raindrop Road. We found evidence Lonzo had broken in, so we issued a warrant for his arrest for burglary, third degree," Investigator Ron Baggette of the Clarke County Sheriff's Department said. Enterprise Police Department contacted the Clarke County Sheriff's Department Monday night and informed them they had arrested Head after a brief pursuit.
"They said he told them he was in Enterprise to get away from the law in Clarke County," Baggette said.
