Municipal employees get the job done We're talking about the city employees who work in and out of the office in Thomasville, Pine Hill and all parts around here. Being the newspaper, we're also information central for many people who call us, asking everything from the mailing addresses for our congressional representatives to what was the first name of that doctor in that office on the highway. Well, you can be sure the folks answering the phones at city hall and elsewhere have to answer questions just as far-reaching. Or at least they try. They take your calls, help you get your bills paid and try to steer you in the right direction when they're not the ones you're actually looking for. And then there's the folks who work outside the office. The pick up the litter we drop. Cut the weeds along the side of the road and generally do what they can to keep our towns looking nice and clean. Or maybe they're looking out for our safety, doing often the most thankless of jobs.
The pay isn't the best in the world, and we can all lose our patience at times in this hectic world, but the good folks who punch the clock every morning for their municipalities get things done.
