Sunny South reunion held

Oldest attendee of Sunny South reunion was Velma E. Lowery Gowan (seated)
Sunny South recently observed the second "Reunion / Fun Day" with several hundred local and out-of-state individuals enjoying a day of fellowship and feasting.

Those from out of town represented at least 10 states.

Velma E. Lowery Gowan, 95, was the oldest attendee. Mrs. Gowan who "came home" from Pine Hill, is shown above with her daughter, Bobbie Zubee Lowery Parker, a resident of Sunny South, Mrs. Cecil Morgan Tyler and Ann Sims Swanner.

Winning the T-shirt contest was Viola J. Norwood. Mrs. Norwood received a Sunny South T-shirt, a first place ribbon and a framed certificate.

Runners-up were Izetta A. Martin, Naomi Jackson, Carolyn Arnold Horn, Lucy Carson and Johnnie Mae Dixon. They each received a portfolio and a certificate. All participants in the contest were awarded certificates.
