The 2007 IFBB North American Bodybuilding and Figure Championships held August 31st - September 1st became a truly continental event this year as the Mexican federation brought a slew of athletes to Cleveland.

In women's bodybuilding, Sabrina Gaddy, competiting in the light-heavy class at a weight of 134 lbs took 7th place in a tough class that drew 17 well seasoned competitors. This class also included the overall winner, Maria Segura from Mexico, who earned her Pro Card.

Gene X. Hwang of Gene X. Magazine, commented, "Sabrina Gaddy was in great shape and has nice thin skin that makes her muscularity stand out, but with such a deep, competitive class, placed seventh just ahead of the well shaped Rachael McMillan. "

Upon her own experience at the show, Sabrina commented. "Wow! What a show! With competitors not only from all over the US, but from Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Canada, I was in awe of the hugeness of this show, I mean 370 competitors!

"And the immense talent," she said. "It was awesome! As this was my first time at a National Level show, I am happy with my placing. Other competitors in my gym had told me making the top 10 at a show of this size is a huge accomplishment, so placing only 2 places from the top 5, I can't be disappointed.

"I do plan to try again next year. I don't want to be a Pro, this is just a hobby of mine I enjoy doing. But I have set a goal for myself to crack the top 5 next year. So after a short break, I'm already back in the gym training hard."

Sabrina is a 1983 graduate of Thomasville High School and is the daughter of Mrs. Clara Gaddy and the late Dabney L. Gaddy of Thomasville.
