Jane Alice Etheredge

Jane Alice Etheredge, 76, of Sweet Water, died Sunday, November 4, 2007, at USA Medical Center in Mobile.

Mrs. Etheredge was born Feb. 11, 1931 in Selma. She was a retired paper mill accounts payable supervisor and was a member of Aimwell Baptist Church in Sweet Water.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Aimwell Baptist Church with the Rev. Percy Clarke and the Rev. James Nichols officiating. Burial was in Aimwell Baptist Church Cemetery

Mrs. Etheredge is survived by one son, Andy W. (Mary) Etheredge of Sweet Water; one brother, Morgan Flowers of Sweet Water; one grandson, Orlando Wayne Etheredge of Sweet Water; one niece, Shelia A. Flowers of West Germany; and one nephew, Danny M. Flowers of Sweet Water.

Mrs. Etheredge was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Etheredge.

Pallbearers were Joe Etheredge, Regan Daniels, Tommy Ware, James Tensley, Bill Blakeney and Mark Etheridge.

Honorary pallbearers were The Ladies Sunday School Class at Aimwell Baptist Church and the Sweet Water High School class of 1949.

Shealor West Hardcastle

Shealor West Hardcastle, 56, of Harrison, Ark., died November 10, 2007.

Mrs. Hardcastle was born Jan. 19, 1951 in Grove Hill to Wiley B. and Myrtle Walker West. She was a member of Bear Creek Springs Church and was a market analyst for McMillan- Bloedel paper mill in Pine Hill for many years. Her primary interests in life were her church, her family and traveling.

A funeral was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Bear Creek Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Enloe officiating.

Local visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15 at O'Bryant Chapel in Thomasville.

Locally, a funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 16, at Basset Creek Baptist Church near Thomasville. Burial will follow at Basset Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Hardcastle is survived by her husband, John "Jack" Hardcastle of Harrison, Ark.; one daughter, India Gates of Dickinson; one stepson, Tom Hardcastle of Dothan; two sisters, Eldaree Fendley of Saraland and Jerelen Blanton of Birmingham; and eight grandchildren, Chelsea and Katelyn Sellers of Dickinson, Haile Hardcastle of Dothan, Derrick Hardcastle of Springdale, Ark., Ashton and Madison Morland of Springdale, Ark., and Sean and Justin Gates of Dickinson.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Hospice House Fund c/o Hospice of The Hills, P.O. Box 1927, Harrison, AR 72602-1927.

Lloyd McClinton 'Mack' Huckabee

Lloyd McClinton "Mack" Huckabee, 91, of Thomasville, died Sunday, November 4, 2007, at his home.

Mr. Huckabee was born Sep. 28, 1916 in Octagon. He was a retired forester and attended Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Thomasville. Mr. Huckabee was a member of the Oliver Lodge No. 334 F&AM, the Order of Eastern Star, the Abba Temple Shrine and VFW Post 5106.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 7, O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with the Rev. Chris Giles officiating. Burial was in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water.

Mr. Huckabee is survived by his wife, Jean Huckabee of Thomasville; three sons, Mike Huckabee of Thomasville, Tony Huckabee of Albany, La., and Phillip Huckabee of Thomasville; two daughters, Sharon Smith of Montgomery and Debra Criswell of Fulton; one brother, Winston Huckabee of Sweet Water; one sister, Pat Dixon of Linden; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jason Huckabee, Patrick Phillips, Wesley McClure, Oliver Cooper, Justin Walker and Phillip Moody.

Honorary pallbearers were Donald Smith, Pete Sheehan, James Morgan, Buddy Boy Deason, Paul Grigg, Tommy Reid and Josh Akridge.

Marjorie Louise Huckabee

Marjorie Louise Huckabee, 78, of Sweet Water died Friday, November 9, 2007 at Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Thomasville.

Mrs. Huckabee was born Nov. 15, 1928 in Wayne. She was retired as a seamstress.

Graveside service was held at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 12, at Shiloh Cemetery with the Rev. Lister Hill and the Rev. Ken Fields officiating.

Mrs. Huckabee is survived by two sons, Ezelle P. Huckabee Jr. of Sweet Water and Elwood Eu - gene Huckabee of Niceville, Fla.; one sister, Rebecca Hucka - bee of Dixons Mills; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Roy Stockman, Larry Allen Jones, Eddie Hill, Adam Reeves, Phil

Honorary pallbearers were Connie Hill and Richard Hill.

Voncile Burge Hynes

Voncile Burge Hynes, 64, of Demopolis, died Thursday, November 8, 2007, at her home.

Ms. Hynes was born May 29, 1943, in Half Acre. She was a retired accountant.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11, at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden with Dr. Alan Atkins officiating. Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery in Dixons Mills.

Ms. Hynes is survived by two sisters, Sue Burge (Jerry) Keel of Demopolis and Margrie Burge (Henry) Jones of Dixons Mills; four nieces; and one nephew.

Ms. Hynes was preceded in death by one brother, William David Burge.

Pallbearers were Robert Wallace, Michael Connor, Richard Hill, Matthew Hill, Julian Johnson and Billy Ernest.

Joseph Andrew Oliver

Joseph Andrew Oliver, 73, of Grove Hill and formerly of Robertsdale, died Friday, November 9, 2007, at his home.

Mr. Oliver was born Sept. 9, 1934 in Sweet Water. He was a probation officer and a warden at Holman Prison in Atmore. Mr. Oliver was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Grove Hill.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 12, at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with Ben Davis and the Rev. David Curtis officiating. Burial was in Pittman Memorial Cemetery in Robertsdale.

Mr. Oliver is survived by his wife, Reba Hicks Oliver of Grove Hill; three sons, Tony Oliver of Mobile, Scott Oliver of Whatley and Jon Oliver of Foley; one daughter, Krista Oliver Bryan of Walnut Hill, Fla.; two stepsons, Dean Hicks of Mobile and Desak Hicks of Coffeeville; two stepdaughters, Debra Tanner of Mobile and Dian Carlson of Omaha, Neb.; four sisters, Peggy Hood of Lucedale, Miss., Shirley Clingan of Robertsdale, Sue Gardener of Robertsdale and Lou Elders of Libuse, La.; six grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild.

Mr. Oliver was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Ruth Smith Oliver.

Pallbearers were Al Clingan, Gray Smith, Clarence Watters, Bill Hearn, Donnie Tanner, Eddie Slayton, John Richburg and Bobby Keahey.
