Southwest Alabama Chamber sponsoring decorating contest

The Southwest Alabama Chamber of Commerce is asking the merchants and residents of Thomasville to join in the season of celebration by joining in a Christmas decorating contest this year.

Merchants can decorate their businesses and residents can decorate their homes for the holidays in one of two categories, Traditional Christmas or Creative / Fun. Traditional could be with Santa, Elves, Snow scenes, Religious scenes etc..; Creative / Fun could be using the type of business you are in to decorate (such as tires for a tire store), Characters, Toys, Trains etc.., as long as it is family friendly. If your business is not downtown or on Hwy 43 and you would like a spot downtown to advertise your business please call the chamber office and it will assign you an area downtown.

"We are also sponsoring a contest for the best decoration in each of the above categories. Participants can pay a $10 entry fee, complete the attached contest entry form and return it by November 30th to participate in the contest," said Marlo Anderson, chamber director. "Entries will be judged by judges from out of town and a prize will be awarded in each category. All decorations to be judged must be visible from the street."
